ZTE, tired of being treated as an underdog and having operators muck up their phones with layers upon layers of bloat, has just announced that they’re going to start selling two of their flagship phones directly to consumers later this month. The Nubia 5 and Grand S share a lot of the same specs. Both have a 5.0 inch 1080p screen, both have a 13 megapixel camera, with the Nubia rocking a Konica-Minolta sensor, both have a quad core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Pro and 2 GB of RAM.

But serious question now, should you buy either of these phones? We all know that Google is going to announce the LG Nexus 5 later this month running the latest version of Android and it’ll also have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800. Assuming it comes in at $399, hell, even $449, it’s a far better buy than anything from ZTE. I mean, if you’re going to buy an unlocked phone, the Nexus 5 will be impossible to beat.
